Groundhog Week

I cannot believe that this week begins Quarter 3 for us! Where has the year gone?!! This week we learned all about Groundhog Day and groundhogs! Take a peek at our week!!

Monday: Today we learned about ai/ay by reading a story about the A twins. We also learned facts about groundhogs. In Math, we began learning about non-standard measurement and discussed the vocabulary words: longer and shorter.

Tuesday: Today we read a story called: Groundhog Gets a Say and answered comprehension questions on Seesaw. Once again, if you are not connected, please let me know! You can view some awesome work samples from your child there! In Math, we practiced measuring things with cubes and worked on measurement story problems.

Wednesday: Today we took our first ELA and Math assessments for the quarter. Look for these to come home soon in progress report folders!

Thursday: Today we read a Groundhog day reading passage and made this class graph! We also watched to see if the groundhog saw his shadow or not! We ate these cute liitle snacks!

Friday: Today we implemented our school wide LDC about Charlotte's Web! The kids had a chance to go to each first grade classroom and learn about an animal from the book. Take a look at some of the fun we had!
